Stargazers typically have "closed eyes" This isn't because they are blind or anything they are just so happy they can't help but squint.

How they breath |
It may seem strange to see a creature that lives in water in the same area as a creature that breathes air. However the Gazer and it's fish have a symbiotic relationship meaning each benefits to having the other there. The fish breathes in the carbon dioxide that the Gazer produces and releases large bubbles of oxygen.
